Normally, a woman might be offended if…

their husband gave them an elliptical for an early Christmas/Push Present…but not me!

A few weeks ago Dave was shopping at a local sporting good store called “Sports Chalet” and he heard them mention that they were hiring. Obviously Dave has not signed with an NFL team yet as this is proving to be a much more difficult year for free agents like him then we anticipated. While he has been working VERY hard at staying in shape and lifting (and our agent is still actively trying to get him signed), he still has some extra time so he decided to apply for the job at Sports Chalet. Why not? Right? He got the job and is working part time there and so far loves it. The store is definitely not one of their busiest, so at times things can be a little slow. Dave is ok with this because they encourage their employees to “try their products.” During most slow times you can see Dave chipping golf balls, hitting baseballs, hanging upside down on the inversion table or just messing around. Not a bad gig huh?

Recently Dave’s manager told him that one of their higher end ellipticals was being discontinued and their was a chance that Dave could get it for a great price if he wanted it. Dave brought up the idea to me and while I was excited about the idea, I didn’t want to spend the money on it with the baby coming and everything. A few days went by and Dave said that a different, higher-up, manager was coming in that could allow for an even bigger discount on the elliptical since they were trying to get rid of them and make room for the new ones.

Long story short, they offered the elliptical to Dave for over 90% off. It was an offer we couldn’t refuse since I have always wanted one (we basically felt like we were robbing them). Dave knows that getting back in shape after this baby comes is a huge concern of mine, so he thought getting a home elliptical would be a great way for me to do it. It will allow me to work out, but still be at home taking care of our little boy.

Dave put it together the other night and I’ve already worked out on it a couple of times. It is wonderful and my 80 year old knees appreciate the low-impact work out the elliptical offers.

Thank you Dave! I love you!

Way to go Dave! I'm impressed it only took you 2 times to get it put together correctly too :) Now where's my treadmill.
