Happy 26th Brithday Dave!

On March 3rd, Dave turned 26 years old! For his birthday we decided to take a quick trip to Miami. We were supposed to leave Monday March 2nd and come back Thursday March 5th. It snowed in Baltimore on Monday so our flight was cancelled. After many, many phone calls we were luckily able to change our flight and plans to Tuesday March 3rd to March 6th.

We stayed at the Royal Palm Resort in South Beach Miami. It was right on the ocean and a very beautiful resort. Our first full day in Miami we decided to layout on the beach in the morning then drive to Ft. Lauderdale to watch some Springs Training baseball! The Orioles played the Dominican Republic. Since Dave served his mission in the D.R., he was excited to watch them play and be around some Dominican's again. It was so fun watching the game and really got us excited for Spring/Summer and the baseball season!

Our next day in Miami it was a little cloudy and too cold to layout at the beach so we decided to rent a mini, electric Escalade and cruise South Beach. It was such a hoot to drive around the city in our little electric car. We got so many stares and people were cheering us on when we drove by. We rented it for 2 hours and when we were on our way back to the rental place the Escalde basically blew up and broke down. Perhaps we were over the weight limit? hmmm...who knows.

During our time in South Beach we were also able just to walk around, do some shopping and of course do some staring. It was incredible to see how many different cultures are vibrant and present in South Beach. We also noticed that the gay community is alive and well in South Beach as well. It was such a different feeling to have guys staring at my husband when we walked down the road rather than me. I always made sure Dave was wearing his wedding ring. I didn't want anyone stealing him from me ;-)

That night Dave surprised me with a couples massage at our hotel. It was hand down the best massage either of us had ever had. The two masseuses were amazing! They started out by walking on your back and your hands. Then, not only did they massage every muscle with their hands, but they stretched and manipulated all of our joints. Such a nice treat1

Even though Miami was a little chilly while we were there we still had a fabulous time there. It was a great way to celebrate Dave's birthday!!!!
